Talking about the game.

Hi everyone, AK here!

I'm not sure if this is a great topic to share with the internets, but I wanted to talk about it anyway...

Today marks the 5th month anniversary of the start of my project, and I'm really happy with its progress so far. Until last year, I was a receptionist at a big hotel in my city. I've always wanted to work with games, but the hotel job was what paid the bills. After experiencing a burnout episode, I decided to quit and pursue game design. With the help of YouTube videos and some basic game design classes, I embarked on this crazy project of creating a game.

The idea was simple: to create a "Mega Man" style game, using my first D&D character (AK) as the main character, and the setting of my last campaign for the worldbuilding.

The challenge was to create as much of the game as possible using what I was learning and assets I could make myself. Over the past 5 months, I've learned a lot: pixel art, game design, UI/UX, sound design, music, animation, and even a bit about the marketing side of things (which I know VERY little about).

If anybody has some tips for starting Game Devs using gamemaker (or not), I would love to hear it. If this kind of post talking about the inside stuff of the project is welcome, leave a like so I know to continue

The demo is available in the Page now. Try it out and leave a comment telling me what you think—any feedback is welcome.

thanks And Keep kicking ass!;D
